WAGATHON! Brookline’s First Dog Fest at Washington Sq!
Every dog has its day. In a town full of furry friends and pet-owners, we want you to make sure yours doesn’t miss out! On Sunday, September 30th, Brookline will hold its first dog fest, The Brookline WAGATHON, hosted by the Washington Square Association, from 11am to 3pm in Washington Square.
Furry friends are guaranteed a tail-wagging good time of eating, drinking, schmoozing and romping! Forty dog-friendly businesses and organizations will line Beacon Street to offer fun activities and gourmet treats hand-crafted by Washington Square’s famous eateries – The Fireplace lamb-burgers, Golden Temple doggy dumplings, Cafe Nicholas bone-shaped pizzas, The Abbey treats, puppy-sundaes at Emack & Bolio’s…and a signature line of bow-wow biscuits to be launched at Athans!
Other great events include: free pet-icures offered at Sylvan by Durty Harry’s, brain-teasers at No Bones About It, Vincent Van Dogh dog caricatures at Cause to Paws and bows and ties for fashionistas at Brocades. Squeaky-toy agility contest at TD Bank. Ruffle raffle at Brookline Bank.
Tiny World Child Care and The Cooperative Dog offer safe-dog-handling classes for tots. Mini-obedience training by Brookline.com blogger Vera Wilkinson, Best of Boston 2011 Dog Trainer. These are only some of the partners and activities on hand. Complimentary booths have been donated to our friends at the MSPCA, Angell Memorial and PetPals.
